The e-Government department’s mission is to facilitate the development and progress of e-technology in the Bermuda Government in order to enable internal efficiencies and improved services to Governments clients. The Government’s Portal is a core tool used in the delivery of e-services.
This position is an exciting opportunity for applicants to work in an environment supporting and developing the Portal and working directly with our clients to identify and meet their e-Government needs.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Portal Manager to provide administrative, design and programming support.
The tasks required of the Portal Administrator will include the following:
· Maintaining and administering the Portal including portlets, communities, users, and content.
· Liaising with and supporting government department portal content managers
· Creating and managing new departmental sites.
· Identifying design, technical, and functional requirements for Portal applications
· Developing, testing, deploying and maintaining new portal functions.
· Evaluating metrics on how clients are using the portal
· Liaising with technology vendors and the Information Technology office on Portal related projects.
The post holder will be required to participate and provide technical support in the work of e-Government Projects from the early conceptual stages through to installation and maintenance.
Knowledge of the Oracle AquaLogic environment would be a definite asset.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an IT or related field as well as a minimum of three years’ experience in Web design and implementation.
