Marshall Diel and Myers is a Bermuda law firm that specializes in litigation, company and commercial law and private client matters. The Corporate Department of the Firm advises on a wide range of local and international matters, including banking and corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, insurance and reinsurance regulation, investment funds and restructuring transactions.
We are seeking a Head of the Corporate Department to oversee, promote and develop the law firm’s Corporate Department and its affiliated corporate administration company. The attorney will be highly motivated and should have the necessary leadership attributes and experience to oversee the Department and promote its continued growth. A minimum of seven years of experience providing advice and related legal services to the international investment and hedge fund industry.
Responsibilities include:
• Developing and managing the firm’s corporate practice
• Providing advice on Bermuda company and securities legislation
• Providing advice on incorporating exempt and local companies, and related structures
• Advising upon, reviewing and drafting Private Offering Memorandums and other transactional documents and agreements related to investment products and hedge funds
• Ensuring compliance with “know your client” and corporate governance legislation
• Providing guidance and advice to junior attorneys and members of the Department
• Frequent traveling and speaking engagements to promote the business and to service the needs of clients
