With extensive experience in the auto body and vehicle painting industry required for our busy auto body and paint departments. The successful applicant must have the following:
• A minimum of 10 years practical working experience in auto body in a garage setting
• Experience in using chassis alignment and plastic welding equipment
• Experience in collision estimating for paint and auto body jobs
• Ability to provide accurate written estimates for insurance claims in cooperation with the mechanical and paint departments
• Initiate ordering of parts and paint required by the body and paint departments through internal and outside sources
• A City and Guilds or equivalent certification
• Ability to run the paint and auto body departments during the absences of the Workshop controller and at any time required to do so
• Ability to work well with others and supervise apprentices
• Experience in managing material resources purchased for paint and/or auto body department
This is a key position and as such requires a self-motivated individual who can work without supervision, including overtime when required to meet deadlines and workload.
